1969 - 1975

First appearing in 1969, the Oliver 1855 was produced until 1975. This tractor was also sold by WFE as the White M-M G-940 tractor in 1971. It was also available with the Heritage color scheme in 1969 and 1970. The 1855 used the same basic engine as the 1755 diesel, except that the 1855 was lightly supercharged. This yielded a PTO output of 98 PTO horsepower, compared to approximately 87 horsepower for the 1755. Seven main bearings were used. It appears that some 1855 diesel engines were replaced with the 1955 Oliver engine due to a persistent problem. Oliver 1855 tractors were available in Row-Crop, Wheatland, or Ricefield models. In addition, the 1855 was available with a front-wheel-assist system as an option. The 1855 diesel was tested at Nebraska under No. 1040. Although the 1855 was also available with a gasoline engine, this model was not tested in Nebraska. Many options were available for the 1855; these included Powerjuster rear wheels, dual-speed PTO drive, Category HI three-point hitch, wheel guard fuel tanks, and a factory-installed cab.
