1917-1924
Appleton Manufacturing Company was established in 1872. Appleton corn shelters, wood saws, and feed grinders were widely used, and Appleton gasoline engines were available for several years. The Appleton tractor was marketed from 1917 to 1924. During the first two years, the tractor had a 14-28 horsepower rating. In 1919 this was dropped to 12-20, although the same Buda motor was used throughout production. Two forward speeds were provided. Nuttall transmission, Bosch magneto, and Pickering governor were all standard equipment.
