F.A. Brownell Motor Co.

The F.A. Brownell Motor Co manufactured gasoline engines ranging from 14 to 150 horsepower. They published a catalog in 1907 with pictures and technical details of the motors.

In 1906, Frank A. Brownell resigned from his position as Camera Design Expert with the Eastman Kodak Company and entered the motor manufacturing business. He was incorporated as the F.A. Brownell Motor Company in 1907 and they manufactured gasoline engines used in automobiles, trucks, boats, and tractors. A financial reversal resulted in the acquisition of the company by the Rochester MOtor Company in 1914.
