Northwestern Steel & Iron Works

In 1911, the company manufactured 50-gallon steam pressure cookers for the canning industry and 30-gallon cookers for hotel use. In 1915, they began producing 10-gallon cookers for home use.

Northwestern was incorporated in 1905 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The partners in this firm were the president, Kim Rosholt, and the inventor, Peter J. Holm. Northwestern Motor Company was incorporated in 1912. Kim Rosholt remained president of Northwestern Steel & Iron Works but was also named president of Northwestern Motor Company. Northwestern Motor Company was a subsidiary of Northwestern Steel & Iron Works and was created to handle the sales and services of machinery, while Northwestern Steel & Iron Works would concentrate on products related to canning and pressure cooking. In 1929, Northwestern Steel & Iron Works became National Pressure Cooking Co.
