A 1909 article in Machinery Magazine provides slight insight, noting that the power cylinder used a 5-inch bore and stroke; the compressor cylinder had a 4-inch bore. There is no indication that the Acme engine compressor was built for any length of time since advertising disappears after a short time.
During 1909 Acme advertised combined gas engine-aur compressors. No details were given regarding various sizes or specific data. An obvious advantage was the enclosure of all equipment in a single unit. Acme could provide an automatic unloading device to maintain a constant pressure, thus the engine could operate continuously.
