The opposed piston engine was built by Acme Pump Company, this engine featured self-ignition due to compression of the charge. On the compression stroke, the pistons came nearly together, but depressions in the piston heads created a combustion chamber. The company claimed this engine would run equally well at high or low speeds. A vertical pattern was also built.
An unusual opposed piston engine appeared in 1907. After the initial 1907 announcement, nothing more is heard of this engine.
