Alto Mfg. Co.

Alto introduced their Model “6” engine in 1928. It
was rated at 3/4 horsepower, and was of air-cooled design.
The Alto has features reminiscent of the Elgin
and other air cooled models, but this might be coincidental.
No advertising has been found for the company
in subsequent years, but from the historical perspective,
the Great Depression which began in 1929,
may have hastened the company’s demise.
