Anderson Engine & Foundary Company

Anderson oil engines had attained a high degree of perfection by the time this 1917 advertisement appeared. Sizes were available from 10 to 100 horsepower in one, two, or three-cylinder styles. The cylinders, pistons, and rings were made of special iron and a drop forged crankshaft was featured. Two cycle design was standard. For starting, individual blow torches were aimed at the cast iron spheres seen at the top of the cylinder. After the engine was running, sufficient heat was retained to make the torches unnecessary.
