Bridgeport Motor Company

During the 1920s Bridgeport included eight two-cycle models and five four-cycle styles in their engine line. Built primarily for marine use, the two-cycle line consisted of 4½, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 16, and 22 horsepower sizes in one and two cylinder styles. The four-cycle line used from one to four cylinders, depending on size. A 20 horsepower double cylinder engine is shown here. It used 6½ × 7½ inch bore and stroke, weighed 1,200 pounds, and sold for $900. The big four cylinder Model
484 engine topped the line with 60 horsepower, a 7½ × 9½ inch bore and stroke, and a bare weight of two tons. It sold for $3,000.
