With a 5 x 6 1/2 inch bore and stroke the 6 horsepower C.H. & E. engine weighed 525 pounds complete. High-quality construction was apparent – the cylinder and frame were cast in one piece with a removable cylinder head. C.H. & E. continued to build engines for a number of years.

Founded in 1908, by 1909, C.H. & E. added gasoline engines to their already extensive line of contractor supplies. It was also an integral part of many C.H. & E. outfits such as ditch pumps, sawing outfits, and the like. Weighing 350 pounds, this 3-horsepower model had a 4 3/4 x 5 3/4 inch bore and stroke. It operated at between 500 and 600 RPM. They were part of the National Equipment Corporation From 1928 to 1931. They were acquired by ABS USA in 2000 and in 2009, by Magnum Products LLC.
