Cedar Rapids Foundary Co

Cedar Rapids engines were built in 1, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, and 3 1/2 horsepower vertical models. These engines were of two-cycle design. Advertising for these engines ran between 1903 and 1904. after this time the Cedar Rapids engines disappeared horizontal engine was also produced but no photographs of this engine can be found.

Between 1910 and 1912 Cedar Rapids Foundry Co. produced the “Governor” engine. Its chief featur was a built-in governor pulley designed especially for operating cream separators and similar equipment. The company also built a patented governor pulley of similar design for use with virtually any engine. About 1915 thsi unit became known as the Hawkeye Speed Governor. None of the Cedar Rapids egnines are known to exist.
