Organized in the early 1900s as M. Cross Engine Co. an illustration of 1928 shows the name being Cross Gear & Engine Company. Generally speaking, outboard motors fall outside the scope of this book, but this four-cycle, five-cylinder design seemed too unusual to pass up. Features included ball bearing connecting rods, ball bearing crankshaft, and a force feed oiling system.,
