E.H. Clay & Company

For 1926, the Honest Clay was being built in one, two, and four-cylinder models, with power ranging from 6 to 1 00 horsepower. Several trade directories of the 1920s and 1930s do not, however, list Clay, so their activities after this 1926 advertisement are unknown.

By 1911, and probably earlier, Clay marine engines were available in single, double, and four-cylinder models. At the time, Clay was building engines in a power range of 6 to 40 horsepower. All were of four-cycle design. By the 1920s the company name had been revised to Clay Engine Mfg. Company.
