history

The Enterprise Foundry Company was established in 1886 and was incorporated in 1908. The company name was changed to Enterprise Engine & Foundry Company in 1940. This was done to reflect the changed nature of the business. In 1943, Enterprise was offering at least two dozen different diesels using four, six, or eight cylinders. By the 1960s, Enterprise had become a division of De Laval Turbines Inc. and gradually faded from view.
