Established in 1842, Fort Wayne Iron Works made iron castings, operated a boiler works, and built steam engines, plus band and circular sawmills. By 1896 the company was building gasoline engines, but nothing is known of them, how long they were built, or the activities of the company subsequent to a 1896 illustration.
