Fuller & Johnson Company was inforporated in 1882. This followed the 1880 puchase of Madison Plow Works by John A. Johnson, Norris Fuller, and others. THe company had roots going back to 1840 under the title of Fuller & Williams. Until the purchase of Madison Plow Company, the firm functioned as farm machinery sales agents. Fuller 7 Johnson implements included plows, corn planters, cultivators, and many other items. Some years prior to the 1932 demise of Fuller & Johnson the Johnson family sold most of their interest in the company to other investors. After the company was liquidated in 1932, a sucessor company maintained the repair parts business and built a few engines from the parts inventory. This business was purchased by Sever Thingstead and Albert J. West in 1947 and continued until Mr. West’s death in 1953. Mr. Thingstead finally cloased the doors in 1954.
