Gilson Mfg. Company

In 1866 the company became Theodore Gilson & Son, a firm building plows, threshers, and other equipment. Implement manufacturing continued until 1905 when John E. Gilson developed the first Gilson engine. In 1914 Gilson sold out to H.W. Bolens who formed Bolens Mfg. Company. Bolens still operates at this time as a division of Food Machinery Corporation, with garden tractors being a major product.
