history

John William Lambert started the Lambert Gas and Gasoline Engine Co. in 1894. It was part of the conglomerate of the Buckeye Manufacturing Company in Union City, Ohio. The company expanded in 1904 and built a larger facility for the production of automobile engines, tractor engines, fire engines, and commercial gasoline engines. They purchased more land and moved in the Buckeye Manufacturing Company from Union City in 1905 and in 1906 they began to manufacture the Lambert brand automobiles. With the success of this automobile, they again expanded in 1909, and manufacturing automobiles became their main product.
