LeRoi Was founded by Charles W. Pendock in 1916. The company was a successor to the engine manufacturing operation of the Milwaukee Machine Tool Company. Westinghouse Air Brake Company acquired LeRoi in 1954, and then they were acquired by Dresser Industries, Inc in 1972. They were privately owned from 1991 until 1996 when they were acquired by the CompAir Group. LeRoi was sold to a small group of Ohio investors and renamed Rotary Compression Technologies, Inc. in 2005. and began doing business as LeROI Gas Compressors. Since 2017, the company has been a part of the industrial division of Gardner Denver, Inc.
