Myrick Machine Company was founded in 1854 as Olean Machine Shop & Foundry. The failing business was sold in 1857 to C. V. B. Barse and later to W. W. Eastman & F.H. Myrick. Myrick’s brother, W. P. Myrick bout Eastman’s interest in 1864 and was reorganized as Myrick Brothers. John Williams came on
