history

The Oshkosh Logging Tool Company was established by Elmer Leach, a former employee of the A. Sanford Logging Tool Co., in 1895. Around 1906 Leach’s firm took over the operations of A. Sanford. Around 1911, they also absorbed the Oshkosh Tool Manufacturing Co and changed the name to Oshkosh Manufacturing Co. The name changed again in 1924 to the Leach Co. but it is suspected that the Oshkosh Mfg. Co name continued to be used for some time longer.
