By 1902, Palmer Bros. were also offering a two cycle vertical stationary engine as an adaptation of their marine design. Offered in 1 1/2, 3, and 5 horsepower sizes, the Palmer stationary engine was priced at $100, $125, and $185 for the respective sizes. Palmer contained to market these engines for many years, and finally modernized them during the 1920s. At this point, Palmer listed Mianus, Conn., as its home city.
Frank and Ray Palmer bega building marine engines about 1895. Primitive by today’s standars, these two-cycle marine engines soon began proving themselves as a reliable investment. the original model was rated at 1 1/2 horsepower, but by 1900, the Palmer line had been expanded to include, 1 1/2, 3, 5, and 7 horsepower sizes. A 1902 catalog notes that these models had respective prices of $110, $150, $225, and $325.
