In 1918, Portsmouth announced their Improved New Era engines in 10, 20, and 40 horsepower. Apparently, Portsmouth was a successor to New Era Gas Engine Company. The company’s end remains unknown. Likewise, no information has revealed the duration of the Portsmouth operation.
