Quincy Engine Works

history

The American Machinist of March 28, 1901, noted that the company had recently been organized, but no further mention of the “Williams” engine announced at that time has been found in subsequent issues. Existing engines are apparently of somewhat later vintage, thus indicating that Quincy remained in the engine business for some years, even though production was obciously quite limited. From all appearances, the Quincy engines from this Illinois firm were marketed primarily on a local basis – not one shred of advertising has been found.
