In one of its few 1900 advertisements, Search Mfg. Company advertised its vertical water-cooled gasoline engine. The company also built dog powers (treadmills), pony powers, and horsepowers. Gasoline engine power made up the fourth component, giving them pause to the slogan of “The Greatest Powers On Earth.” Unfortunately, none of the illustrations we have found for this engine have been any better than the one used here. This one required considerable time to even be printable.
