Originally known as Smalley Brothers & Company Ltd. The Smalley Motor Company was located in Saginaw in 1903 and incorporated in June of the same year. In 1906. the Eddy family took over the interests of the company and during the next couple of years, the Smalley company either closed or may have been sold or renamed General Machinery Company.
