Stohr & Freund

In 1910, Stohr & Freund began building a few engines, making them mostly to order for a few years. This company on the Mississippi River specialized in manufacturing machinery for cutting and processing pearl button machinery. It is said that some of the engines were included with this equipment. No information has been found concerning the various sizes that might have been built.

In 1873, Stohr moved to Muscatine with his family. He worked at Barry Manufacturing Company and learned the machine trade. He then became partners with Freund and The Stohr & Freund began building engines in 1910.
