history

J. D. Fate began building clay extruding equipment for the manufacture of bricks in the late 1880s. After his business, Plymouth Truck Company closed in 1915, he joined with three Root brothers and Charles Heath. They first built locomotives and reel-type grass mowers. After the 1929 stock market crash, the company was urged by Charles Heath, to build tractors. Their first tractor was the Silver King.
