Tractor Info

1930-1937

The Oliver Hart-Parr 18-28 tractor made its debut in early 1930. This model used the same basic four-cylinder engine as was used in the concurrent Row-Crop. In 1931 the 18-28 tractor listed at $1,025. When sold as a Western Special the price was $1,045; the difference being that this model was equipped with a Pomona air cleaner. Although the 18-28 was initially offered only with steel wheels, rubber tires became optional equipment in the early 1930s. A 1935 catalog notes that “Air tires are available as extra equipment.” An interesting, albeit a minor feature, was the use of a filter on the crankcase breather to deter the entry of dirt and grit into the lubricating oil.
