Conventional designs were evidenced in Russell’s 30-60 model in 1913. The front and rear wheels were identical to those used on the steam traction engines. A large horizontal tubular radiator was placed over the front axle. The cross-mounted four-cylinder engine simplified the drive train, requiring fewer gears and mechanisms than an in-line engine. The 30-60 was built in this style for only a short time, but no major changes were made during the entire production run.
