In late 1913, E-B took one stab at the giant tractor trade with its Big 4 “45”, a six cylinder model with 45 drawbar and 90 brake horsepower. Weighing 23,000 pounds, it too was designed for the heaviest plowing and belt work. Most of the large tractor builders tried to build the “biggest” tractor, but they were too clumsy to be of much value, except on the biggest jobs. Within a couple of years the “45” disappeared.
