Weighing 6,395 pounds, the 6806 was equipped with 18.4/15-30 rear and 7.50-16 inch front tires. Additional front and rear ballast raised the total test weight to 11,000 pounds. The selective gear fixed-ratio transmission offered twelve forward speeds ranging from 1.3 to 15.5 mph. Operating in seventh gear, the two-hour economy run at 58.59 maximum available drawbar horsepower saw a pull of 4,264 pounds at 5.15 mph with slippage totaling 5.33%. Fuel economy was posted at 14.63 horsepower hours per gallon. By comparison, the ten-hour run at 75% pull recorded an
economy of 15.05 horsepower hours per gallon under a load of 47.13 drawbar horsepower. Also indicated in this test was a pull of 3,320 pounds at 5.32 mph with slippage totaling 4.00%. No repairs of adjustments were required during 45 1/2 hours of operating time. Standard equipment included a four-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine. Rated at 2,300 rpm, it used a 3.94 x 4.72 inch bore and stroke for a 230 CID. At rated engine speed, 68.18 maximum PTO horsepower appeared and an economy of 16.39 horsepower hours per gallon of fuel was observed. Operating at 540 PTO rpm and a corresponding engine speed of 2,025 rpm, an economy of 16.55 horsepower hours per gallon was achieved under a load of 62.52 PTO horsepower.
