Gasoline traction hay presses were built by a few companies, including the Ann Arbor outfit of 1910. It reflected a changing technology. Farm machines were improving so rapidly that this particular outfit only represented a minor improvement. The traction mechanism was not designed for drawbar work, except to possibly pull an empty wagon.
