Eason built a somewhat larger machine in the fall of 1906. The Model No. 3 had a two-cycle two-cylinder opposed engine of 5 1/2 x 6-inch bore and stroke, operating at 675 RPM. At rated speed, the engine was capable of 16 horsepower and could pull 2,000 pounds at the drawbar. The total weight of No. 3 was 4,100 pounds. At the beginning of his tractor career, Eason owned a section of good Kansas land. After three years of tractor experiments, the land was tied up in the three tractors. Eason later commented that the experience gained from the effort was worth several times the cost of the land. U. S. Patent 1,205,982 was granted to Eason and an associate for the unit frame design of the Wallis tractor. This patent was then assigned to Wallis. Later on, Eason moved over to Hyatt and remained there for many years.
