Tractor Info

1959-1964

The Oliver OC-9 Diesel was built in the 1959-65 period. Oliver OC-9 tractors from about 1960-64 were available with the TransOmatic Drive. This was a torque converter system especially designed for tractor duty. The four-cylinder Hercules engine used a 3 3/4 x 4 1/2 inch bore and stroke for a 198 ci displacement. It delivered about 57 flywheel horsepower. Rated speed was 2,200 rpm. Weighing some 9,675 pounds, the OC-9 was designed as an industrial machine, rather than being built for agricultural purposes. Due to the loads imposed, the transmission case was made of cast alloy steel, and all transmission gears were shaved for the highest possible finish and precision. This model was priced at approximately $9,200.
