Tractor Info

1954 - 1958

Whether in gasoline or a diesel version, the Oliver Super 88 engine was of a six-cylinder design and used a 3 3/4 x 4-inch bore and stroke for a displacement of 265 ci. Nebraska Test No. 525 was run on the gasoline model, and Test No. 527 shows the performance of the Super 88 diesel. The two subjects were remarkably close in their power level; both delivered a maximum of nearly 50 drawbar horsepower. The present research has no way to substantiate the claim, but Oliver advertising of the time noted that they had sold about 90% of the diesel-powered tractors of this period.
