Regular features of the new 884 tractors were an eight-speed transmission, with sixteen speeds available if the optional Torque Amplifier was used. Also included was the Dyna-Life clutch with cerametallic facing, IH maintenance-free battery, differential lock, and planetary final drives. All-wheel-drive was available on 584, 784, and 884 tractors as a factory-installed option.
