Oliver OC-18 crawlers used a big Hercules six-cylinder engine. This diesel design carried a 5 5/8 x 6 inch bore and stroke for a displacement of 895 cubic inches. Rated speed was 1,500 rpm. The crankshaft was 4 1/2 inches in diameter and operated in seven main bearings. The crankcase carried 8 1/2 gallons of oil, while the cooling system took 15 1/2 gallons. A 66 gallon fuel tank was used. Heat-treated track wheels were standard equipment, and as with other Oliver crawler models, a one-piece shaped and riveted frame was used for the maximum in rigidity. Production of Oliver crawler tractors ended in 1965. A Hercules DFXE diesel engine was used in the Oliver OC-18 tractor.
